Here’s the skinny on @RussHutto [Russ Hutto]

I started this blog a little over 3 years ago to share my experiences and adventures in music and media ministry. I’ve been a blogger for close to 5 years off and on. Started up the @RussHutto twitter account in October of 07 and have been tweeting about life, music, and such since then.

I live and work in Brunswick, Georgia. It’s a beautiful town in the southeastern corner of the state almost to Florida. I spend a lot of time on St. Simons Island which is right off the mainland.

I’m happily married. My wife and I have a Pit/Lab mix dog named Sophie who occasionally stars on my blog.

I’m on staff at WYIM Publications – a regional community oriented, hometown living magazine publisher. We have grown from just a handful of markets to over 11. I design ads for print and lay out articles for the magazines.

I write and perform original music. I’m no rockstar, but I love writing and performing.

Songwriting:

My heart in songwriting is songs for worship (small groups, church gatherings, etc).

I coordinate regional Songwriting Intensives geared towards bringing together local artists/writers for a day of basic songcrafting theory, learning moments, and writing exercises.

Volunteering:

I volunteer at St. Simons Community Church in worship gatherings and in youth gatherings.

Worship Ministry Development/Traveling Worship Leader:

I’m available to help small churches with Worship Ministry Development. And I travel monthly to worship with other churches. Feel free to CONTACT me if you’d like to have me at your place.

I will lead worship for special events, church gatherings, youth camps, rallies, retreats, etc.

Creative Director of Publishing [Highest Praise Publishing]:

As Creative Director I am responsible for song submissions, song development, song promotion/sharing, and artist relations for HPP. This coincides with my behind the scenes work at The Worship Community.com where I spend a lot of time moderating the forums and coordinating monthly songwriting challenges.

I’m an active member and contributor at The Worship Community.com – a great forum/article based resource for Worship Leaders, Teams, Techs, Pastors, etc.
