We’re Parents!! Sort of…
We adopted a puppy Saturday and I brought her home today.
Blog friends, meet Sophie, our little bundle of puppy joy.

She’s an American Bulldog/Lab mix. She’s a little groggy (above). This is on the car ride home from the vet (she was spayed this morning).

Here she is sleeping off her meds. The vet said she’d be a little tender the next few days.

This is my wife’s and my first pet together here in Valdosta. We’re excited about the responsibility and of course the fun!
Media Monday
“Hour of Power” founder, Robert H. Schuller has removed his son, Robert A. Schuller, as preacher on the weekly television broadcast from the Crystal Cathedral. Ok, Dad, there comes a time to let Junior handle the big boy stuff. Story
Gas prices plunged over the last two weeks. I think it’s a good thing, but it appears that it’s a result of the “economic slowdown” which has driven people off the roads. Story

Cell Phone service celebrates 25 years this week. 25 years ago the first commercial cell phone call was made from a Motorola DynaTAC “Brick” that weighed 2.5 pounds and cost about $4,000. Story
An 8 year old accidentally shot himself (fatally) while under adult supervision at a gun range. He was firing an uzi down range, but the gun was too powerful for him and the force made it travel up and back toward his head. I’m all for gun rights (and appropriate control), but I honestly believe there should be more common sense applied to age appropriate gun use. There should be no circumstance EVER where an 8 year old would be firing an uzi, ever. Story
Blog Apologies
To all few of you faithful readers who stop by RussHutto.com and have tried to comment in the last few days, I apologize. I accidently turned on the “Comments Must Be Approved by Admin” function in my dashboard. I don’t remember doing it, so I’m guessing it was probably gnomes.

If you wouldn’t mind, leave a comment on this post just to make sure we’re all good again.
Are You Ballot Cattle?
“By the way I’m voting for McCain/Palin”

Check out this video of a guy expressing his opinions pretty well. My views are very close to this. I voted yesterday in early voting. I know that many folks are voting Obama for change. I respect that and genuinely wish that if he’s elected he’ll follow through on his campaign promises, but most likely he will not be able to.
I have a lot of blog friends that will be voting Obama, and I hope beyond all hope, that you are voting in an informed, intelligent manner, and not buying into the myths about the democrat party that have been perpetuated for decades. I hope that you are voting because you truly believe the Obama ticket can make a difference in Washington, not because he’s charismatic or even because of the color of his skin. I hope.
