Keyboard vs. Guitar: Which Does God Prefer?

Ok, ok. Just kidding.

But seriously.

This is the beginning of a great new series that I am putting together with the help of Mark Thomas (denverintranslation.com), and in the future, other online friends who are bloggers and worship leaders.

We’ll be taking songs for worship (popular ones and some originals) and breaking them down on acoustic guitar and keys.

Each post will contain 2 videos. One from Mark giving the guitar perspective and one from Me, Russ Hutto, giving the Keys/Piano perspective.

We hope you enjoy these vids and can glean a little bit here and there, especially if you’re picking up a new instrument or are just wanting to learn a little here and there.

Get ready the next post is where the goodness begins!

The Same, But New!

Here I am again RussHutto.com.

Some of you tech folks might recognize that the underlying hosting has changed here at my .com.

Others might not notice a thing. But I’m full transferred to my own hosting here at RussHutto.com

Thanks for bearing with me.

If you are a subscriber to my feed and I’m on your blogroll, please make sure that those links point back to RussHutto.com (not houseofjoy.info/russ).

Much appreciated!

Russ

Change

Over the next few days RussHutto.com will be going through some changes. It’s been a process that started back before the new year, but hasn’t fully made it to completion.

My blog is self-hosted, made the switch a good long while ago and haven’t regretted it. However, the actual space I’ve been using was a little corner of web real estate of my church’s hosting neighborhood. I tried, in vain, for about 2 years to get our staffers to blog, setting up the space for each on our hosting, but I’m the only one who does.

So, I figured it was time I sprung for my own space. I used to run 2 or 3 websites of my own a few years ago. A worship blog and a band website from when I was a rock star.

It’s time to do it again…not the rock star thing, the website thing.

Thanks to human3rror, I was able to hit the ground running and to hit the ground running hard. It was such a blessing to get started using his promo code and to pay almost nothing for a year’s worth of hosting. Thanks, Jon! I will definitely pay it forward!

All that to let you know, that in the last few months, I’ve been watching my subscriber count go up. That’s exciting. If you are a current subscriber, please bear with me. I hope to keep a continuous flow of posts coming from russhutto.com, but as I make the switch there might be a few days when I disappear completely. If you wouldn’t mind and if you’ve enjoyed my journey, please stay tuned and continue to visit russhutto.com throughout the next few days/week and make sure you’re feed is the most current one.

I run my feed through feedburner so it really shouldn’t be all that difficult to make the transition.

Please make sure the feed you have for me in your reader is:

Thank you so much for blogging with me and being my online friends.

Most historians point to the year 1066 AD as a turning point in Western History. The Battle of Hastings and the Norman Conquest are two of the most well-known historical events that changed the tide of history that year.

Most scholars point to this year as the dividing point between the Dark Ages and the Middle Ages.

Thanks to all of you who have commented the last few years, and here’s to another 1,066 comments!

299th Post. What Should 300 Be?

Hey I just wanted to thank all of you who stop by daily and weekly to check in over here at russhutto.com.

I love the network of worship leaders, worshipers, photographers, songwriters, bloggers, church leaders, etc. that I’m connected to and it’s because of you that my blogging journey is so fun! I’ve never been too much of a stat ho but I do enjoy knowing that there is a good handful of subscribers checking me out through their readers and it’s always neat to see how many visitors come through.

With that in mind I wanted to know what YOU would like to hear from me, Russ Hutto. As a visitor to this blog, what is something that you’d like to know about me? How can I help you get to know me more?
