I Admit: I’m Not a World Rocker

Last month I had a chance to go to Re:Create. It’s an amazing “unconference” designed to be a refreshing and challenging time of retreat, learning, early adopting, creative display, etc. And from the moment I got there I realized I don’t EVER want to miss it.

Those of you who have complained about the cost and how the registration fees could be used elsewhere just don’t understand. It was worth every penny I paid out of my own pocket to meet some of the most amazing brothers and sisters in Christ that I’ll ever meet. The networking opportunities are phenomenal. The challenges brought by the speakers/artists and fellow attendees will remain with me for life. I am a better follower of Christ because of that week and I’ll defend it boldy and confidently.

Standard Theme Released Into The Wild

Standard Theme by Milk Engine (John Saddington aka Human3rror founder of the 8Bit Network) is ready for mass consumption! I’ve been using it in closed beta for the last month and let me tell you I’ve not used a theme that I’ve liked this much EVER! I had a great time styling it. re:create 2010 [my experiences]

Instead of tweeting every amazing and wonderful experience at re:create 2010 this year, I’ve decided to run more of a self-contained liveblog of my week. This way I’m not bombarding twitter or facebook with too much chatter and my friends and followers won’t get annoyed at me. So if you’re really interested in checking out my re:create timeline visit this post often and you’ll see what me and Fred McKinnon and a whole bunch of other fine folks are up to at re:create.

My Stupid Little Romance List

To find out what’s on my stupid little romance list and how I’m trying to becoming a more romantic husband head on over to inProgress (tam’s blog) where I guest posted today. I designed her sweet custom blog header several months ago.

Also, in other news, I got to meet (face to face) a person that I’ve known for a while online: Alece over at Grit & Glory. I did a sweet custom blog header for her several months back as well and she’s still rockin’ it.

Calling Worship Songwriters: February Writing Assignment

As part of challenging myself (and others) to continue to write. I’d like to issue a challenge to you!

Write a song!

For the month of February I’d like to encourage you to write a song based on Psalm 31. Feel free to use your translation of choice, but it’s a great idea to look at the passage you choose in several different translations to get different wording for the same concept!

Join the TWC SONGWRITERS GROUP if you want to participate!
