Sunday Setlist [06.26.11]
Thanks to Mike Richardson (drums) and Bucky Keen (bass) for sitting in with me today at The Chapel. Mandy and Drew are on vacation and she asked me to fill in for her!
1) Everlasting God (Brown): Key Bb. Pretty standard arrangement.
2) Blessed Be Your Name (Redman): Key G. Kind of low, but really singable as a whole. I love this song. No doubt about it. I think it will always be in my repertoire.
3) Christ Is Risen (Maher): Key G. If blessed Be was low, this one was HIGH! But it begs to be!! This one jut needs to be proclaimed, ya know. Loudly! Not just sung!
Message on missions.
4) Amazing Grace/My Chains Are Gone (Tomlin): Key D.
5) Here I Am To Worship (Hughes): Key D. These last two were communion songs so we played them freely.
Had a great time at The Chapel! Thanks for having us, Mandy Thompson!

Looks like you had a great service this morning. Is the Chapel a church? Or a multisite of a church?
It was a great morning! The Chapel is one of our local United Methodist congregations (a contemporary plant). They run 2 services at the same one so I was in one of the services leading.
Love it Russ… I think Blessed Be is sort of like How Great is Our God, we just can’t get away from them can we?! I guess that’s a sign of a great song. And I love the thoughts on Christ is Risen, yeah, that one can’t be sung quietly!
Sounds like a great morning Russ!
I saw “Tree of Life” tonight and the film is build around the “he gives and takes away” theme…fascinating to see so much of Job appear on the big screen.
Stay connected…
:) Great songs!! And thank you so much for taking the reigns on Sunday. I’ve heard great things about the service!
