Sunday Setlist [PWAC Jesup 2.7.10]

Had the great privilege of leading worship at Providence Worshiping Arts Center in Jesup, Ga today.

It’s been a while since I’ve worshiped there and I always enjoy the warm welcome and the freedom given to just go for it in God.

It was only me on an acoustic this trip, which I REALLY enjoy sometimes, because it gives me the opportunity to really just lead worship without the added responsibility of leading the band and singers as well. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but sometimes it’s nice to just strip everything down and lead from a guitar or piano only.

SETLIST:

1. Glory To God Forever (Steve Fee): Key G. All of my set was in G today so I decided to keep this one in G as well. It’s a little low, but probably more singable for a lot of the ladies in this key.

2. The Lord Reigns (Psalm 93) (Russ Hutto): Key G. I love leading this new song in live settings. People jump right in and sing loud on it. It’s always fun when one of our originals takes off.

3. Follow After You (Psalm 63) (Russ Hutto): Key G. Another one that has been clicking in corporate settings. We just debuted this one at SSCC last week, so I knew I wanted to carry this one with me too and see how a different crowd connected. I could hear the congregation singing out loud on the choruses on this one!

(both of these originals can be listened to and charts downloaded from here)

4. Step by Step (Rich Mullins): Key G. I just medley this one with Follow After You and it flows really nicely. Most everyone knows this or it has a bit of familiarity to them.

5. Revelation Song (Jennie Lee Riddle): Key C. I had originally planned to rock Christ is Risen (Matt Maher) but decided against it at almost the last minute. Instead, I went with more of a familiar song and one that I was a little more confident in leading on. I didn’t have the luxury of having a backing band this trip, so I felt like I could pull off Revelation Song better since I’ve been singing it for a few years. Also, it’s a VERY familiar song in almost every church setting I find myself in. So I felt it would be better to close our set today with something familiar and simple that the people could really join in on. It was a great choice.

I just talked to the worship staff about leading the next communion service acoustically just like you did! Maybe we’ll use your list!

That would be sweet. I always love the change of pace!
