Legacy: For This Life And The Next
I don’t want to be known as the young man who made his mark on this life by any and every worldly means possible. Fortune, though an appealing snare, has no keeping power. It dries up like a stream during drought. Fame, though pleasant for a loud season, withers away with the passing of time. Power, though a generous stroke to the frail ego, holds little stay when you transition from this realm to the next.
But legacy…
Legacy is an enduring thing. Not the kind of legacy that comes from having fortune, fame or power. For those things aren’t true legacy at all. I’m looking for influence that lasts for generations on this side of eternity and still stretches over into the mysterious and divine unknown.
It has been said that what we do in this life, with these frail hands, echoes through the halls of eternity. But I say that legacy is more than a diminishing echo. It’s a foundation built here that extends into an eternal reward of infinite measure. Our actions here are just the tip of a glorious, heavenly iceberg.
If eternity is endless, not constrained by the limits of time and space, then our whisper of a life here on earth is the prologue to an infinitely wondrous existence in the Divine realm. But it’s so much more than just existing.
It’s living.
And this living, this true life that we’ve barely dipped our toes into, is an ocean of unthinkable, indescribable wonders, a sea of amazing beauties and breathtaking moments, that we couldn’t even begin to dream of here on this side of heaven.
The legacy that I’m speaking of is one that not only continues through my own family line and people I come in contact with day in and day out on this life journey, but also the actions, the prayers, the service and the laying down of my own life for others that reaps a heavenly harvest on the other side.
I don’t want to be known as the old man who left behind fortune, fame and power when he got to the end of his life.
I want to be known as the young man who left behind fortune, fame, and power because his life had truly begun.

Wow. It's Quiet Here...
