Sunday Setlist [5.10.09]

1) He Reigns (Furler):
Key D. We toned it back from the really rocked out version that we normally do. We didn’t have our electric guitar player this week, so it was more of an acoustic sound.

2) Today Is The Day (Brewster):
Key Bb. Hadn’t done this in a while. It really went over well when we introduced back in the summer of 08. Seemed a little flat today, still went over well musically.

3) My Redeemer Lives (Hillsong):
Key C. This is one of my favorite “old” songs in our repertoire. We only do it maybe twice a year and when we do it’s always fun.

4) Through These Years (Daughtry/Clemmons):
This was a song that a young lady (14 years old) in our church penned the lyrics to about her dad who passed away when she was 4. It really went well with our 30 Days to Live – Leaving A Legacy message. Madison Clemmons, an amazingly talented member of our band, took the lyrics and put music to them. She played her guitar and sang it (I just helped on guitar). It was a very moving way to end the service.

I’d like to post video as soon as I get it.

Funny thing, when you tweeted your list, Diane said “Russ is kickin’ it old school this week”

It is fun to do that every now and then, but I don’t think we’ve pulled out a 90s song in a while. Can’t be too far away now though…

Look fwd to the video :)

I think this vid is from the second service. He Reigns was a little quick. But otherwise pretty good.

HAHAHA, I forgot I lost my voice too. Notice the squeakiness in the last song.

I did not notice the squeak

Love the vid. Didn’t notice the squeak, but I like the groove on the song.
