Meet “Us” – 2 Drummer Version of Your Love is Beautiful

Hey I thought I’d share a glimpse into what I get to take part in every Sunday. This is the “Us” that I talk about each week in Sunday Setlists. This is most of the team at House of Joy in Valdosta, GA. This is taken from our “We Worship” gathering that we held on December 28th.

We had most of our musicians playing (normally we have a smaller band – rotating members in and out). We even used 2 drum sets. You can’t see one of the drummers, but if you listen you can definitely hear both of them. Especially on the break in the middle, they kind of go back and forth. It was fun.

I’m on keys.

Definitely gives you a peek into the energy and “style” of our musical worship times here. I love leading worship with these guys and gals.

Sorry it’s not a pro recording, but this is all we’ve got at the moment! Enjoy.

The song is “Your Love is Beautiful” by the Hillsong crew. CCLI #3375583.

Great stuff Russ! Do you guys only lead on Sunday’s? Do you lead your youth services? Awesome video!

Love it! It’s a lot more funky than the recorded version I’ve heard.

@johnny: our sunday gathering is our adult and youth gathering. we don’t have separate worship gatherings. like to keep the generations together. we d have a youth bible study, though.

@janaki: thanks! that’s usually the response we get. but that’s because rock or funk everything up. we have a very non traditonal diverse crowd so that calls for some spice!!

    Wow.
    That was some good percussion.
(I thought you had trouble with your drummer?! Sounded incredible to me!)

Becca, thanks for the compliments! That was definitely one of our better moments. I could post things and you’d understand what I’m talking about. It’s not end of the world stuff we’re talking about. Just consistency. One of the biggest issues is pushing the tempo. Hope to get on a click track soon.

    We’re working on it.

Yeah I am one of the drummers in that video, and consistency/tempo are/have been a big issue when it comes to my playing, I plan on taking it to the next level as a re-dedicate myself to more practice and really working on consistency.

@Brian, you’re doing great man! I appreciate your heart to reach higher and go deeper with your playing. It’s attitudes like that (and the acceptance of truth) that makes us one of the most awesome praise bands on the planet, regardless of tempo issues!

    You rock!

    (and thanks for the comment!)
